Green Key for Mariënwaerdt

During a festive meeting on the 20th of may Heerlijkheid Mariënwaerdt received the silver Green Key for its meeting & events facilities.

"Sustainability, CSR and everything organically. These are our principles. Preserving the magnificent family estate is our mission. This we do with great passion and love. "

The preservation of nature and the Estate are important objectives for the Heerlijkheid Mariënwaerdt. We try to spare and preserve the environment. The control of environmental pollution and reducing environmental risks are a primary responsibility of management and staff. To shape these principles the structural guidelines of the Green Key are followed.

Green Key
The Green Key is an eco-label for hospitality facilities that aims to contribute to prevention of climate change and sustainable tourism by awarding and promoting good initiatives. The Green Key aims to change the practices and behaviours of hospitality actors including enterprises, authorities, guests, local communities, and to involve them in increasing their responsibility towards their own environment. On the 20th of may 2010 Heerlijkheid Mariënwaerdt obtained the silver Green Key.

The label guarantees our guests a stay with care for the environment.  For this we had to demonstrate that we decreased our gas, water and electricity use and for the reduction and separation of our waste.

More information about the Green Key can be found on their website www.kmvk.nl
